Many of you will know that I’m a self-confessed golf addict with no hope of rehabilitation. As part of my golfing journey, I end up playing in quite a few charity games each year as well as corporate events. There’s usually a nice golf cap that is part of the welcome gifts.

Having developed a sizeable collection of golf caps, it got me thinking that there must be plenty of golfers out there with a similar number of unwanted golf caps. It’s such a waste. Why not become a gatherer of hats and caps, and then once a year when I head back to India, I can take them and distribute them to those less fortunate than us. So I sent out a “pilot” email, and my suspicions were correct. There are thousands of caps out there that need to find a home on a needy head!

Places like India are generally hot all the year round. There are farmers in paddocks and school kids who swelter in the hot Indian sun. They would greatly value the shelter from an unused cap.

So if you’ve got any unused caps, let me know, and we can work out a way of collecting them.
